Thailand Phra Somdej amulet
The magical origin of the "King of Buddha Amulets" Phra Somdej
The Phra Somdej amulet is known as the King of Amulets, and is also known as the "life-saving amulet" and "the Venerable Buddha of Great Wisdom". It is one of the most popular and famous amulets among amulet collectors and believers in Thailand and around the world, and is also the first of the five ancient Buddhas. Phra Somdej is the origin of all the images of Thai Southern Buddhism, and is the most comprehensive and complete of all gods and Buddhas, and its origin is even more magical.
Around 2382 B.E., a great monk with profound meditation and practice appeared in the famous Wat Rakin Temple in Thailand, named Yajaan Do. He was the second abbot of Wat Rakin Temple at that time, and his master was said to have achieved the state of Arhat. He was the founder of Wat Rakang Temple, and he often displayed his magical powers to transform sentient beings and save people in distress. His spirit of saving people from suffering was highly respected by the local people.
One day, while Master Yajaan To was meditating, he suddenly heard his master's voice saying, "Tomorrow's sunrise will be very special. Get up early and go to the beach to watch it !" Yajaan To did not dare to neglect it and ran to the beach before dawn. At first glance, it was still dark and nothing special. However, at a glance, a white light suddenly appeared in the east, which gradually turned into a Buddha statue emitting white light all over its body, appearing on the sea surface in the east. Master Yajarnto shed tears of joy and prayed loudly, "Thank you for the gift, Master. This sun-like Buddha statue will surely bring happiness and peace to mankind. I will give it to everyone. Anyone who wears or worships it will be successful in everything, make friends, and have endless wealth and happiness. I bow three times at the command of Master!" After the bows, Master Yajarnto came back and used sutra powder, incense ash, temple soil, hair of eminent monks, bananas, grains and other sacred objects as raw materials. He then invited eminent monks from major famous temples to bless the Buddha statue, hold a grand ceremony to bless and chant sutras, and made 84,000 statues. Later, they were distributed to believers who came to the Buddhist temple to establish a connection with the statue.
It is said that anyone who got the Phra Somdej made by Yajaan Toh would become successful. At that time, the emperor specially named this Buddha statue as the Phra Somdej amulet.
Wearing Phra Somdej amulets can not only protect the wearer from evil, but also increase the wearer's popularity and harmony, eliminate disasters and difficulties, attract wealth, family harmony, prosperous business, and abundant financial resources, etc. Anyone who wears Phra Somdej amulets, as long as they have good intentions, will be blessed by the gods, have a happy family, and everything will go smoothly and as they wish.
